Terms of service

Last updated 15 October 2026.

Draft for review before launch. Not yet legal advice.

The service

ID Crate identifies music from links you provide, tracks releases, indexes metadata about your library and provides related tools. It is provided by ID Crate, United Kingdom, to you under these terms.

Your account

You must be 16 or over. Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

Acceptable use

Use ID Crate for your own music discovery and library management. Do not use it to infringe anyone's rights, to scrape or redistribute platform content, to circumvent rate limits or credit rules, or to run automated sign-ups. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service.

Content and links

ID Crate does not host the videos or audio you paste links to. Media is processed temporarily to produce results and then deleted. Results are best-effort identifications and may be wrong. Finished scans are listed on the public ID wall by default, with the original post embedded through the platform's own player where one exists. You can turn this off in Settings or take down any scan. Hunts may be removed on request of the person who posted the original clip.

Plans, credits and payment

Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly in advance through Stripe. Included credits reset on your billing date and do not roll over. Purchased top-up credits do not expire. Prices exclude VAT where it applies. See the refund policy for cancellations and refunds.

Third-party services

Detection depends on third-party platforms and recognition services that can change or fail without notice. We work to keep detection running but cannot guarantee any particular link will be processed.

Liability

ID Crate is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect losses, lost profits or data loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.

Changes

We may update these terms and will email account holders about material changes at least 14 days before they take effect.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
