ID Crate

Identify

What did you just hear?

Paste a link from Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or SoundCloud. ID Crate fingerprints the audio, reads the screen, parses the caption, checks the platform tags and mines the comments, then fuses all five into one answer with a confidence score.

Free: 5 scans a month. Pro: 50. Pro Plus: 200 plus long-mix mode.

A completed scan. The fused result, the signals that agreed, and one-click actions to add the track to your crate or buy list.

Five signals, one answer

Shazam is one signal. ID Crate runs five. Audio fingerprinting queries Shazam, AudD, ACRCloud and AcoustID with multi-point sampling, so a clip with a talky intro or a crowd in front of the speaker still gets sampled where the music is clean. A vision model reads every frame for deck screens, Rekordbox and Serato overlays, artwork, caption banners and end cards. The caption and description are parsed for tracklists and timestamps. The platform's own metadata is read where it exists, and on YouTube the top comments are mined for answers the crowd already gave.

The results are fused with cross-confirmation: when the fingerprint and the vision model agree, confidence goes to 99 percent. When only one signal fires, you see exactly which one, and why.

Verified against the stores

A name read off a deck screen is a guess until it is checked. Every detection is verified against Spotify and Apple Music before you see it, so a vision-read ID becomes a linkable, playable track rather than a string of text.

Carousels, slideshows and long mixes

An Instagram carousel is scanned slide by slide, up to 20 slides, each with its own result. TikTok slideshows and sound pages work the same way.

Long-mix mode, on Pro Plus, fingerprints a whole set in overlapping 30-second segments and returns a timestamped tracklist. Useful for radio shows, podcasts and the mix you recorded on Saturday and need to tracklist by Monday.

When nothing identifies it

An unreleased track will not be in any database. That is the point of ID Crate. When every signal draws a blank, the clip is fingerprinted with Chromaprint and compared with every other unidentified scan, so you are told when the same unknown ID has been heard in other people's clips. From there you can share the hunt with the community, or add it to your crate as an ID and let the daily scanner catch it the day it is released.

Honest about failures

Social platforms change their extractors constantly. ID Crate keeps three independent downloaders and self-updates the primary one when it breaks. When a download fails anyway, you see an honest failure state, the scan is retried automatically, and it costs you nothing.

Questions

Which platforms can I paste links from?
Instagram posts, reels and stories, TikTok videos and slideshows, YouTube videos and Shorts, SoundCloud, Facebook, X and Mixcloud.
How long does a scan take?
Usually one to three minutes. Downloading the clip is the slow part. Pro Plus scans jump the queue.
Does it work on unreleased tracks?
No database knows an unreleased track, so fingerprinting will not name it. The vision model can still read an ID off a deck screen or caption, the community can, and the daily scanner will catch it on release day if you add it to your crate.
Is my clip stored?
The audio and frames are processed in a temporary directory and deleted after the scan. Only the results and a compact audio fingerprint are kept.
